Common Concerns (And Honest Answers)

I’m not sure hypnosis will work for me.

Most people can benefit from hypnotherapy, especially those who are thoughtful, self-aware, and motivated for change. There’s no special skill required. And you can’t do it wrong.

I’m afraid I’ll lose control.

You cannot be made to do or say anything against your will. Hypnosis works with your system, not over it. My goal is to work WITH you to help you achieve the life you want.

I’ve tried everything — what makes this different?

This work doesn’t ask you to think your way through or out of the issues. It works beneath conscious effort, where long-standing patterns, beliefs and emotions are held.

About Me

Hi! I'm Tracie. I’m a Certified Hypnotherapist with a Master’s in Counselor Education, based in Asheville, North Carolina. I work with people in midlife because this phase asks real questions — and polite, surface-level answers usually don’t cut it.

My approach is shaped by education, ongoing learning, and lived experience. I don’t believe we ever arrive at some finished version of ourselves, and I don’t believe midlife is something to “get through” as quickly as possible. It’s a period where what’s no longer true falls away, and what actually matters starts asking for space.

I bring curiosity, honesty, and humor into every session. I’m not here to smooth things over or talk you out of what you’re feeling. I am here to help you make sense of the physical, emotional, and identity shifts that are happening — and to work with them in a way that leaves you clearer, steadier, and more at home in who you’re becoming.

This work is personal, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that learning doesn’t stop — and neither does becoming.
