I’m Glad You’re Here!

Tracie Kutner-Merwitzer, ME/EdS, CHt, Hypnobirthing Specialist & Life Coach

I've known most of my life that I was a healer (although I couldn't have told you what the word was for who I am until recently.) I even resisted my parents' urgings to get a degree in Business, and, instead, pursued my Bachelor's degree in Psychology and then Master's and Specialist's degrees in Counselor Education from the University of Florida. As challenging as counseling others was for a young woman with only 25 years on the planet at that time, I felt a sense of purpose, like I was doing what I came here to do.

Life took me on several detours, starting at age 28, including becoming a mother to a daughter and two sons, helping my husband start and run two retail businesses, being a Mary Kay Sales Director, a Pure Romance Consultant and Sexual Health Educator, and becoming a Marine Insurance Investigator, Adjuster, and Manager of a family owned marine investigative firm. In every role I played, I used the counseling skills I learned. But deep inside I always knew I was meant to use my natural and learned skills and knowledge to help others as a healer.

It took finding out at age 50 that the episodes I had been experiencing for 8 years - which were originally diagnosed as panic attacks - were really focal aware epileptic seizures to make me re-evaluate how I was living my life, using my skills, and examine who I was. I was at a transformation point.

Like a caterpillar, starting with my own physical and mental health, I began spinning my cocoon. I took time to re-evaluate what was important, heal past traumas, and discard the old coping strategies that had outlived their usefulness. It was challenging in that "messy middle", but dissolving what no longer worked or fit allowed me to grow my wings and craft a more "on purpose" life.

Now, I am a Master Certified Life Coach, Certified Hypnotherapist and Certified Hypnobirthing Specialist. I help women navigating life's transitions clarify where they want this transition to take them, clear away what isn't working anymore, and approach each day knowing they have everything they need to handle whatever comes their way. My approach includes using a variety of coaching and hypnotherapy techniques, couched in my mental health education background and training.

I am a strong believer in the healing power of women in community. Women have been told for so long we should be able to do it all, on our own, and not complain. The truth is, we are so much better when we work together, share information and support each other. The more we share, the more we find out we are not alone, the more empowered we become. This applies to everything from how difficult it is to get up in the morning and shower some days, to issues and concerns with our bodies that we have been too embarrassed to discuss, to parenting concerns and aging parent concerns. It's my goal to create a safe place for my clients individually as well as a safe community where women can support one another.

While my coaching/hypnosis practice is generally focused on people who identify as women, and I identify as cis-gendered and hetero, I and my practice are LGBTQA+, and always a judgement free zone for all races, ethnicities, religions, spiritual practices and lifestyles.

Whatever life transition you are navigating, I am ready to meet you where you are and help you find and walk the path to where you want to go.
